I just want to congratulate ALL women with 8 March that is the International Women Day.
This is not celebrated in the most part of the world, but we here love our women very much and at least in this day try to do everything possible to have them happy.

That we need to have a reminder to celebrate women is, in my opinion, degrading. Women have been working to obtain equality and this day does nothing but to set them apart.
Its about as absurd as Valentines day, like I need a reminder to appreciate my wife, or like thats the only day I need to appreciate or buy her anything...please...

But ask your wife if she would like there to be such a day. I am pretty sure she would love it. :)
Also... if to go your way, you in USA would not need to have the Thanks Giving or Father Day or any day like this.

What next? International Village Peasant Day? To remember all peasants who served Lords of the Manor and Kings and weren't allowed to own their own land and had to steal turnips to survive. As a villager myself I feel so liberated these days. Thank heavens those days are gone, I would have no where to park my horse and I hate turnips.

What about your comment.... here are some more days you may opt against: Memorial Day, Washington's Birthday, Labor Day, Veterans Day, Thanksgiving Day. If the list is too short for you, i bet it will not be too difficult for you to find more.
HEY! Here is a free idea for you. Create a site where you can publicly share your opinions on this (you know, my blog is not wide enough for millions to hear you).
Also your comment about "International Village Peasant Day" looks stupid enough to me. Using such reasons that are totally taken off the discussion idea and mixing things is just perverse. This is just a way to discuss when someone doesn't have valid arguments for his point of view. :)

I don't pay much attention to such things and take everything (or at least trying to) easy.
I guess things like this holiday are seen differently in different parts of the world. Here women have not only same rights as men but i think even more chances to succeed in what they do that in many many other places. So it's not about the need to remember about them, or taking them seriously only once a year etc. And with all that still if to try to take this day from them i bet a revolution would happen hahahaha
By interest i asked today some girls and women of different age about this possibility (taking off this holiday) and they reacted just like i supposed they will. So this indeed should depend a lot on how things are taken on it in different countries.
